Yvonne Goldsmith-Rybka & Nicky Rybka Goldsmith - Owners

Yvonne & Nicky met at Manchester Metropolitan University many years ago and have been pretty inseparable ever since! After opening The Bay Horse in 2004, they went on to launch Soup Kitchen and Thomas Restaurant & Bar. In 2013 they made the decision to scale back their operations (but holding on to their beloved Bay Horse, the original and the best) in order to both pursue their own individual creative paths. Nicky is now an established fashion stylist working in both commercial and high end fashion; and Yvonne has followed her love of both food and travel as a writer and photographer, currently holding the post of Food Editor at VIVA magazine.

Chris Verrall - General Manager

Chris came to Manchester to study and see what all the fuss was about with the ‘Madchester’ scene of music and clubs. Having worked at the Polytechnics’ Student Union he had his first taste of life in the bar industry. Returning to London he began managing larger venues, including both The Ministry of Sound, and Dingwalls in Camden which combined his passion for live music with the business he had come to realise was his calling! Never quite shaking off his time in Manchester (who does?) he returned to open HOME Nightclub in what was then one of Urban Splash's first major developments on Ducie Street. It was in fact here he first met Nicky and Yvonne as they worked their way through Uni; years later they jumped at the chance when Chris applied to their post for a General Manager and they've never looked back

Lyndsey Currie - Saddle Club Manager

Coming from a long line of Curries that love their food and their drink, Lyndsey has now been in this industry for over fifteen years. For the last three years Lyndsey has supported Chris in the running of The Bay Horse, along with a hands on approach in our kitchen and in developing it's menus, indeed many a Currie recipe has made its’ way onto the final list! With extensive experience in mixology, it seemed only natural for Lyndsey to take on the role of Saddle Club Manager. Her passion for taking classic cocktails and turning them into more accessible modern drinks will be the focus for her first menu launching this October. We can't wait!

Lewis Mclean - Graphic Designer

Lewis and his twin David's' borderline obsession with music means they have played in bands since the age of seventeen, having toured Europe various times and also further afield including Japan, USA, and Canada. Born in Dumfries (Scotland) and raised in Bletchley (Milton Keynes), his travelling has given Lewis an insight into other cultures with exposure to different values and built his excellent social skills. Having moved to Manchester 2010, he has pursued his passion for art and graphic design, and had the great opportunity to work for Tombed Visions Records, Fat Out and The Bay Horse Pub, where he designs all menus, event posters, and the layout of this website!
